The History of our Church

1985    Jimmy and Miriam graduated Brooklyn Teen Challenge and became staff members.

1986    Jimmy and Miriam both enrolled in Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.

    Jimmy and Miriam graduated Central Bible College.

 Jimmy and Miriam moved to Long Island to pioneer Teen Challenge.

1990    They established a Teen Challenege office in-home and 2 bed Men’s Crisis Program in their basement.

1990    Establsihed a Coffee House Outreach in Amityville, Long Island, New York.

1993    Expanded a Coffee House Outreach in a V.F.W. hall in Amityville, Long Island, New York.

1994    Established Freedom Chapel with a Sunday morning and Tuesday evening service in our Coffee House with 150 congregants.

1995    Established a Coffee House Outreach in the drug infested area in Hempstead, Long Island.

1996    Purchased a larger warehouse in Amityville and expanded parking for 300 congregants.

1997    Established an additional Coffee House Outreach in drug infested area in Amityville, L.I.

1998    Purchased 3/4 acre property adjacent to the Church for the future building.

1999    Added and renovated two office trailers in the parking lot for the Children’s Church.

2000    Architectural plans for new Church building are designed.

2001    Submitted the building plans to the Town of Babylon for approval.

2004    Plans were finally approved and we received the permits, and broke ground to build.

2004     Our new evangelistic ministry “Rock the Block” was initiated.

2005     Established a 20 bed Men’s Crisis Home in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

2005     Established 12 bed Men’s Crisis Home in Albany, New York.

2006     Presently completed most of the exterior and some of the interior of our new Church.

2009     Easter Sunday the doors of the new Freedom Chapel International Worship Center opened for the first Service.

2012    Pioneered and opened a Spanish Church. Iglesia de Libertad has a bilingual Service every Sunday.

2013    Established as an AID & RELIEF STATION by providing housing for teams to help people in need resulting from crisis  situations (Hurricane Sandy,etc)
